It's here!

So since I am actually sitting down to do blogging today, I thought I would go ahead and tell you a little about this weekend that I have been looking forward to... well, all except for the driving....

Tonight, I will be the lovely, only girl umpire of 3-4 coach pitch baseball games. Yep, I'm the only girl that is still umpiring, and that's due to a just amazing man that likes to be chauvinistic, to say the least.... Oh well. It happens to tons of people. My brother is getting blessed with 3-5 days worth of work, while I get 1 day of work a week. But, it's money, and I won't complain about that!! Plus, once girls' softball starts up in a couple of weeks, my boss thinks I can "handle" that so I will be getting more days. I hope!

Tomorrow, my lovely family is in town for my brother's State Math Competition. He's awesome. And a genius. Geez. Good luck, Chris!! I have to umpire from 9-12, but then, I get to go and check out the awards, have lunch with the fam, and then get on the road and head to Kansas City where I get to attend a Sean Kingston and Travis McCoy concert at my alma mater. Yayyyyyy!! After all that money spent on a university, a nice free event to go to!! :) Gotta love the little things! Can't wait to spend time with my friends. Hate the driving, but it's worth it.

Sunday, I have an open house for med school. Scary. ahhh. But then I will be going out with my best friend, Liz, and her fiance, Travis, to hang out and probably go see a movie. I can't wait to ACTUALLY catch up with the two of them together since I only got to give him a quick hug when he got back from overseas before they and I left to go home for Easter. I have missed him so much, and it's AMAZING to see my best friend so happy again!!!

Monday, I have a meeting at KU, and then I will be doing a volunteer shift with Liz at my FAVORITE hospital, Children's Mercy. Those kids always put such a smile on my face. :)

So that's my weekend! I'll be heading home on Tuesday in time for class. Lovely. It's nice not to have classes anymore on Monday. :) Next week is not really that busy, either! I only have some assignments due, two clinical shifts, and dead day is next Friday, which a friend of mine and me are DEVOTING to Pharmacology. Ahh.. so glad that that lovely class will be over a week from next Tuesday. Can you say, time to celebrate?!

On another note, I would like to congratulate my friend, also from my hometown, and a fellow blogger, Lynsie, on her last day of law school classes!! Only a little bit longer, and she will graduate and be an attorney!!! Congrats, girl!! You give me inspiration to keep moving on in school when it gets tough!

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

take care,
Gennie
