So Many Changes...

Lately, life has been so busy... and stressful. It was suggested a long time ago that I start to blog about my life, frustrations, excitements, etc. I never really thought about it until I started to think about my fiancé leaving in a few months. I wanted to have a way to tell him everything that I was thinking when I don't always get to talk to him. Not sure if he'll actually be able to read it much, but when he does, at least he'll have access to everything I remembered to write about but forgot to tell him about in the few times we get to talk. :( Also, I think it will be a great way for me to de-stress. :)

For those of you that don't really know what has been happening in my life, I became engaged to the man that I have been dating for two years and the love of my life recently. Our engagement date was November 1, 2010. He makes me extremely happy... happier than I have ever been in my life! I can't wait to be Mrs. Cauthen. :) As of right now, we have only figured out a few details for the wedding. Allen is graduating from University of Oklahoma with a Public Relations/Spanish major and a Conflict Mediation/Management minor. He is in the Air Force and will be attending a AF Special Tactics Training Program beginning in May 2011 thru February 2012. Unfortunately, that means I will be planning most of the wedding and just updating/discussing details with him as much as possible. At least it will be something to keep my mind off of him being gone.... yeah right. Our wedding date will be August 11, 2012. I will keep you updated on the details!!

For right now, even though school has been keeping me busy, we are just trying to enjoy fun trips/dates/activities and spend as much time together as possible. We are technically long-distance but only a couple hours apart and see each other almost every week for a couple of days. In a couple of days, we are heading to see his brother in Wichita and go hiking (brrr.... it's still too cold, so this should be fun, ahh!). I can't wait. I love road trips with him. Even though it seems like I know everything there is to know about him, I know I don't, and I always learn more on road trips. It's also a great time to discuss what we want to do after we get married. It's amazing.

As far as school, I am attending Missouri State University and trying to complete the Master's Cell of Molecular Biology program and then hoping to be accepted into the Physician's Assistant program. My ultimate goal is to practice emergency medicine or pediatrics as a PA and hopefully teach at some point in undergraduate or graduate education. I really like this new school, and it is nice being closer to home. I had spent the past few years at Rockhurst University in Kansas City. I still miss KC a ton, but it is nice that I still see my friends when I go up there for appointments and such. In fact, my best friend is Liz, and I met her my freshman year at Rockhurst. We were both Biochemistry majors. We are so close, basically sisters, and that hasn't changed... and won't. She's one of the best people in my life, and I honestly have no idea what I would do without her.

Anyway, I think that's enough background information on what is going on in my life right now. I am so excited to start this new blogging journey! Thanks for following me! :)
