A Little of My Weekend :)

Well, I was going to call it an early night after texting back and forth with my best friend for a few hours, but then I got to talk to Allen for a while, and now I am wired. :) So, I thought I would go ahead and blog and catch up on what has been going on. I even have a few pictures to post! :) I will continue on with the 30 day blog challenge tomorrow, but first off, here's what my weekend plans entailed as of Thursday:

1) Do nothing--bed rest as ordered by my doctor because I have been dealing with a lot of pain and health issues lately.
2) Do nothing with school--no stress, so no homework until I felt like I could handle it. Gotta love those orders, right?!
3) Re-watch/watch lots of movies and tv.

However..... my lovely friends had something else in mind! We were supposed to be having a girls' weekend at my future-in-law grandparents' cabin, and I had to cancel because of my health issues. Yet, they didn't see the need to cancel and decided to come on Friday night and surprise me! It was great. :) They geared up for a road trip, stopped along the way, and then showed up at my house at like 8 or so on Friday night. We stayed up talking and hanging out and went to a late dinner down the street. So not quite bed rest..... but close enough! haha. It was much better and definitely what I needed--the perfect pick-me-up as I had requested via fb earlier in the week! :)

Saturday, we woke up late, and the girls wanted to go shopping. I wanted to obey dr.'s orders, but of course, I wanted to hang out with my friends (I am not that big of a shopper, though--I just go to get what I need or have in mind). So, they came up with the BRILLIANT idea of renting a wheelchair from Shopper Services at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Branson. So between driving there and sitting all day in a wheelchair (while my crazy but amazing friends pushed me!!), it was "bed/chair rest." And so much fun. Once my best friend puts up pictures from the weekend, I will post them. I only took a couple.

Today, we just hung out, got some donuts, and then they headed out, and I took a legit nap. It was nice. Now, I am wide awake, but I should really take it easy and go to sleep. I have to go to West Plains tomorrow for a clinical (short thank goodness) in Neurology (we are supposed to go to surrounding hospitals, and they put me in WP whenever they can so I can stay with my family for free :) ), and then I will stay overnight b/c I don't have class or a meeting until 4 the next day. So catch up on laundry day, anyone? And hang out with friends. It's awesome.

Anyway, that was my weekend! I really feel like I should have done homework, but I guess that will be for tomorrow night when I am at home resting and visiting with family. I am excited! I am also hoping to stop in on my way to WP to see my former physical therapist and friend, Vallie. I was in physical therapy for a long time, and my physical therapist was probably the most supportive, helpful, kind person there was during that time, and has become a dear friend. I haven't seen her in a while, just emailed, so it will be AMAZING to see her!! And share some wedding plans with her/obtain some advice. :)

Here are a few pictures!!

At dinner at Lonestar, trying to finish her drink. :) They looked delicious--I stuck with water!

On our way to Branson, Jess was craving Long John Silvers so we stopped there for lunch! She was sooo excited haha.

Anna! :) At Lonestar, also.

SUCH AMAZING FRIENDS!!! I am such a lucky girl!!

Hope you guys had a great weekend, as well! Back to the real world tomorrow, and military ball/my birthday dinner is next weekend, so life is busy!

Good night!

Take care,
-Gennie
